Vine and Branches is a ministry of The Steward Community LLC. This page explains what information we collect when you use Vine and Branches, how we use it, and who helps us handle it. If anything here is unclear, write to admin@vineandbranches.info.
Who can use Vine and Branches
Vine and Branches is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you tell us you are under 18 during sign-up, we do not keep your details and we do not continue.
What we collect
- Your name, your WhatsApp phone number, and your email address if you give one.
- The messages you send to Vine and Branches on WhatsApp or on the web sign-up page, and the messages we send back to you, including daily lessons and reminders.
- Your sign-up answers, such as your church, your faith background, your spiritual gifts, your serving and ministry experience, your time zone, and the personal questions we ask to tailor your lessons, which can include relationships, a current struggle, and what you have overcome. You choose what to answer.
- Journal entries, prayer requests, and challenge check-ins that you submit.
- Details about your account, such as when you were last active, whether you have opted out of messages, and your subscription status.
- Billing details if you subscribe. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we do not see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical information when you use the web sign-up page, including your IP address, which we store only as a hashed value to limit abuse, and a cookie that keeps you signed in while you finish sign-up.
- For church staff who use the dashboard, a sign-in email address and a role that controls what you can see.
How we use it
- To create your account and send you a daily lesson built around your life and your pastor's sermon.
- To match you with mentors, groups, and serving opportunities at your church.
- To write weekly and monthly summaries of your progress.
- To run subscriptions and billing.
- To keep the service secure and prevent automated sign-ups.
- To help your church's authorized staff care for the people in their community.
Who processes your information
We use these service providers to run Vine and Branches. They handle information only to provide their service to us.
- WhatsApp, a Meta service, carries the messages between you and Vine and Branches.
- Supabase stores our database and handles staff sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website and dashboard.
- Anthropic, the maker of Claude, is the AI provider that helps write lesson content and your weekly and monthly summaries. To do that, we send it your name and the lessons, journal entries, and check-in answers for the period being summarized.
- Stripe processes subscription payments.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-ups on the web come from a real person.
Your church's authorized staff can see the information needed to care for you, such as your profile, your check-ins, and prayer requests you share with staff. Access depends on their role.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Your choices, retention, and deletion
- Reply STOP on WhatsApp at any time to stop receiving messages. Reply START to resume.
- To see, correct, or delete your information, email admin@vineandbranches.info. We will delete your account and the information tied to it, except what we must keep for legal or billing records.
- We keep your information while your account is active and until you ask us to delete it.
Security
We limit who can see your information, protect our database with access rules, and send data over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Not a counseling or emergency service
This app is not a crisis or emergency service and is not monitored in real time by a person. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911. This app is not a substitute for professional counseling, medical care, or pastoral care.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
